TELLURIDE — On Feb. 29, the THS Miners Boys Basketball team took on the Mancos Bluejays at home.

Telluride went into the game ranked third in their league with a 7-11 record, and Mancos led the league with a 15-3 record.

This was the last home game for the Miners and was marked by Senior Night, an evening where seniors on the team were celebrated with a speech from their coach and a speech given by each senior. This year there were only three seniors on the team: Dillon Sheehan, Kaden Katz, and Tommy Wells.

Before the game, all three of the seniors gave their speeches, which thanked their coaches, teammates, family and fans.

The miners fell 59-46 against the Bluejays, dropping Telluride to fourth in its league.  Mancos maintained its number one spot in the league.

Despite the loss, the Miners made the playoffs and moved onto regionals, where they played Sanford on March 6.
