TELLURIDE– At Telluride High School, halls are bustling with the excitement of a new year.   The THS staff is ready to get right back into the loop once again for the 2019-20 school year.

TMHS principal Sara Kimble was all smiles as she welcomed everyone back.  Among the things she says she’s most excited for are for classrooms to be filled with kids and for the return of staff.  She adds that the library has a new design geared to help students find materials, and that she’s thrilled for the upcoming sports season.

Students are also ready to get back into the grind with smiles on their faces.  Rider Johnson says he’s most excited to apply to colleges. This past summer, Johnson took on an internship in Denver as a researcher in a hydraulic lab.  “It was very interesting to learn about the hydraulic pumps,” he said. Now that he’s back, however, he’s ready to excel in academics and sports.

Teachers alike are also enthused to impart knowledge and help students reach their potential.

“I am most excited to teach American history everyday,” says high school history teacher Jessica Heady, who also lists teaching about 19th-Century Reform and the Civil War as highlights this year.
